Text Chat from 3D Round Table on 05 May 2013

The following is text chat from the 3D Round Table on 05 May 2013 at the AILC on the IEEE 2 sim in Second Life as we brainstormed ideas for kick starters to further the Metaverse.

[11:01] Ai Austin settles back in the pop
[11:01] Ai Austin: *pod πŸ™‚
[11:02] Ai Austin: .me wonders what all those A
[11:02] Ai Austin wonders what all those NPCs are for?
[11:02] Lomgren Smalls: I just float above it since I twist and bend a few SL rules, hehe
[11:02] Ai Austin: Great.. sounds good
[11:02] ThinkererSelby Evans (thinkerer.melville): hi avajean
[11:03] Lomgren Smalls waves
[11:03] AvaJean Westland-Dalglish (avajean.westland): Hi Thinkerer!
[11:03] Seren (serendipity.seraph): thanks waiting for rezz
[11:04] Beth Ghostraven: yes
[11:04] Seren (serendipity.seraph): Β¨perhaps giving up on SL and moving to private and other alt opensim worlds
[11:04] Seren (serendipity.seraph): too expensive here and not enough openness to innovation
[11:05] Seren (serendipity.seraph): you have to pick specifics to build something real though no?
[11:05] Ai Austin: I would like to see ONE virtual world… but with niche corners you visit and travel to… like on vacation πŸ™‚
[11:05] Lomgren Smalls nods
[11:05] Seren (serendipity.seraph): Ah, the great Stephenson. πŸ™‚ *smiles*
[11:06] Beth Ghostraven: yes
[11:06] Ai Austin: Fine
[11:06] Naring’nari (joey.aboma): Can everyone hear voice?
[11:06] Fran (francisco.koolhoven): yes
[11:06] Lomgren Smalls: Yup, voice
[11:06] Ixmal Supermarine: yes
[11:06] FreeWee Ling: yes
[11:06] Seren (serendipity.seraph): look, here we have very limited ability to innovate at fundamental level that does seem a critical consideration.
[11:06] TheresaAnne Kohime: @Tate .. that is very possible if we can give the grid owners a compelling reason to jon in
[11:06] Ai Austin nodss
[11:07] Lomgren Smalls: Seren – the idea right now is to come up with high-level concepts. Not picking grids or anything, we’re above that level
[11:07] Ai Austin nods vigorosly
[11:07] Ai Austin: .sp
[11:07] Naring’nari (joey.aboma): looking for ideas that are grid agnostic
[11:07] Naring’nari (joey.aboma): Want to further the Metaverse as a whole
[11:07] Seren (serendipity.seraph): we have had high level concepts a long time. sometimes we need to build new things. high level concepts will not get us to snow crash metaverse
[11:07] ThinkererSelby Evans (thinkerer.melville): social media transcends platforms
[11:07] Ixmal Supermarine: a rising tide lifts all boats
[11:08] Beth Ghostraven: Hi Ewan!
[11:08] Beth Ghostraven: yeah, sorry, I gave out the one from where I’m sitting
[11:08] Seren (serendipity.seraph): try doing social media with a crippled platform..
[11:09] Ai Austin: NP
[11:09] Lomgren Smalls: No problems at all
[11:09] Beth Ghostraven: I don’t see Frans on now
[11:09] Fran (francisco.koolhoven): I’m right here πŸ™‚
[11:10] MoPad White Board: Now showing Image 1/0 –
[11:10] Beth Ghostraven: oh, sorry I was thinking of someone else, Fran
[11:11] Ai Austin: Sl has got the VW more generally a bad name
[11:11] Ai Austin: due to the sex side of things
[11:12] Seren (serendipity.seraph): is serious business the goal or increased creativity generally? Many business models just don’t work in metaverse and perhaps never should. I am more interested in what we can do with the metaverse and with metaverse/physical world hybrids.
[11:12] Ai Austin: oh really?
[11:12] Lomgren Smalls: Same for the Internet
[11:12] AvaJean Westland-Dalglish (avajean.westland): what industry does NOT start with sex? LOL
[11:12] Ai Austin: Yes.. but ROOTS were productive things on internet.
[11:12] Ai Austin: sure.. BUT perception needs to be changed
[11:12] Seren (serendipity.seraph) palms face for not setting up a porn server in the early days
[11:12] Ai Austin: OpenSim can help there… as its much more of a productive environment
[11:12] APOLLO (johan.hagel): are we on voice?
[11:13] TR Amat: Free sex messes up people’s instincts. πŸ™‚
[11:13] Ai Austin: YesApollo
[11:13] AvaJean Westland-Dalglish (avajean.westland): Yes Apollo
[11:13] Beth Ghostraven: I really like how Bernhard Drax (Draxtor Despres) is using his machinimas to publicize the *good* things that people are using SL for; that could be transferred to other VWs
[11:13] ThinkererSelby Evans (thinkerer.melville): What are major potentials for business from virtual worlds
[11:13] Ai Austin: SL still the best … and enarest we have for widesperad access
[11:14] Seren (serendipity.seraph): in many ways it is not the best
[11:14] FreeWee Ling: There needs to be integration with other media. Combine backchat with live music, television, etc.
[11:14] Beth Ghostraven: MInecraft is actually a VW too, in many ways
[11:15] TR Amat: Distributed use of CUDA coordinated via virtual worlds for AI work? Even AGI work?
[11:15] Seren (serendipity.seraph): tablet / mobile workable client for opensim/SL is a great kickstarter project
[11:15] ThinkererSelby Evans (thinkerer.melville): I run articles in my blog on business potentials in VW . I would be open to invited articles on those topics
[11:15] Ai Austin: Federates and multi-layre but sort of integrated is good
[11:15] Ai Austin: *Federated
[11:16] Seren (serendipity.seraph): easy to do closed or open if you can roll your own servers. It is possible.
[11:16] Naring’nari (joey.aboma): As you have ideas you would like to have added to the list, please start your chat with ! to signify that it is one of the ideas
[11:16] Ixmal Supermarine: kind of like infrastructure promotes business in RL… build roads, powerlines, water pipes and that allows stuff to happen… I’m wondering what the ‘virtual’ equivalent of that is
[11:17] TR Amat: Federated secure cloud development, hooked-up to VW? The “Secure Cloud” could be very useful…
[11:17] Beth Ghostraven: SL has a steep learning curve and hardware requirement for really widespread use
[11:17] Seren (serendipity.seraph): Leap motion and kinect direct animation of avatars is another great possible kickstarter project
[11:17] Ai Austin: ! Federated elements to allow for multiple levels of facility and capability, but with a core that is the same avatar identity
[11:17] Seren (serendipity.seraph): what is $50K?
[11:18] Seren (serendipity.seraph): ! Leap motion and kinect direct animation of avatars is another great possible kickstarter project!
[11:18] Beth Ghostraven: ! I really like how Bernhard Drax (Draxtor Despres) is using his machinimas to publicize the *good* things that people are using SL for; that could be transferred to other VWs
[11:18] APOLLO (johan.hagel): APOLLO = Johan Hagel
[11:18] Seren (serendipity.seraph): ! tablet / mobile workable client for opensim/SL is a great kickstarter project!
[11:18] Ixmal Supermarine: ! kind of like infrastructure promotes business in RL… build roads, powerlines, water pipes and that allows stuff to happen… I’m wondering what the ‘virtual’ equivalent of that is
[11:18] TR Amat: ! Distributed use of CUDA coordinated via virtual worlds for AI work? Even AGI work?
[11:19] Seren (serendipity.seraph): !being able to capture any app window to in world moap is possible project!
[11:19] TR Amat: ! Federated secure cloud development, hooked-up to VW? The “Secure Cloud” could be very useful…
[11:20] Seren (serendipity.seraph): where is this software? I don’t have it. making it available is a project
[11:20] ThinkererSelby Evans (thinkerer.melville): ! videogaphy-machinima for video production is developing, could develop fastger
[11:20] FreeWee Ling: Is anyone developing SL for Oculus Rift?
[11:20] Ai Austin: Now we have separation of viewers for OpenSim… due to havoc licening issue.. some things held back by SL compatibility can be freed up. OpenSim could become the innovation platform.
[11:20] Seren (serendipity.seraph): !simulcast kits of real/world – virtual events
[11:20] TR Amat: !Modular viewers, allowing extension, and 3d record/playback.
[11:21] Ai Austin: Test with modules there.
[11:21] Seren (serendipity.seraph): hear about isn’t enough if it has not been productized. Productization is what you do with kickstarter projects
[11:22] TR Amat: !Plug-in server definition modules…
[11:22] Seren (serendipity.seraph): !making better viewers that are not entangled with historical BS
[11:22] APOLLO (johan.hagel): I have got the feeling we are naming all things over again….sorry for dropping in late…but has there been any discussion about the tasks forces?
[11:22] MoPad White Board: Now showing Image 1/0 –
[11:22] Beth Ghostraven: REQUEST: when you use voice, could you tell who you are so I can turn your volume up?
[11:22] Ai Austin: Its MOAP
[11:22] APOLLO (johan.hagel): APOLLO = Johan Hagel
[11:23] MoPad White Board: Now showing Image 1/0 –
[11:23] Canvas: Sorry – Lock is enabled
[11:23] Seren (serendipity.seraph): !group browser capability where all client see the same thing. This would be very powerful for in world MOAP / education / business
[11:23] TR Amat: Animated nose-picking Olympics – what is the market? πŸ™‚
[11:24] Beth Ghostraven: @Seren, would Google Hangouts work for that?
[11:24] Seren (serendipity.seraph): no.
[11:24] Seren (serendipity.seraph): not in virtual worlds
[11:24] Beth Ghostraven: oh, I see what you mean
[11:24] Ai Austin: @Beth… Why use Google Hangouts… or Skype… SL/OpenSim with Vivox is BETTER πŸ™‚
[11:25] TR Amat: Where were previous round tables publicised?
[11:26] Beth Ghostraven: <– perpetual noob
[11:26] Seren (serendipity.seraph): yeah. now if I can just show my spreadsheet/movie/have people see what I am browsing etc on a screen in world dependably that would be great
[11:27] Seren (serendipity.seraph): of course open source does not mean done for free or even zero cost
[11:27] TheresaAnne Kohime: you dance with the devil when you get investors
[11:27] TheresaAnne Kohime: and they can greatly control the direction the project goes
[11:27] TheresaAnne Kohime: that’s why kickstarter’s where oyrou crowd source funded is better
[11:28] TheresaAnne Kohime: keeps things focused on where it shoudl be
[11:28] TheresaAnne Kohime: pelase excuse hte typoes .. dyslexic on board πŸ˜›
[11:28] APOLLO (johan.hagel): I am a lousy dancer, Tess…..8^)
[11:28] TheresaAnne Kohime: lol
[11:28] Seren (serendipity.seraph): so for kick starter what is sexy enough to draw enthusiasm of crowds?
[11:29] Tanglecosm Steamweaver: ! teleporting between grids would be nice
[11:29] TR Amat: !minimalist viewer inspired by “Radegast”.
[11:29] Naring’nari (joey.aboma): We intend to follow up with the following:
(a) Web-based poll for people to vote over the next week for their favorite idea
(b) Followup meeting in two weeks to announce the winning ideas and flesh out these concepts a bit more to ensure we have enough detail and costing data to apply for the kick starters
(c) Submit kick starters for funding and socially market these out to the right audiences for interested investors
(d) Put out a call for developers (as needed) and keep community informed on developments
(e) Deliver technology to further the business of the Metaverse
[11:29] AvaJean Westland-Dalglish (avajean.westland): I can’t stay guys, hopefully I’ll be back before you’re done. But I will definitely like to see the video later.
[11:29] TheresaAnne Kohime: lol ok
[11:29] Seren (serendipity.seraph): what would we personally put $10 – $100 in that we have come up with here?
[11:29] TheresaAnne Kohime: that’s the idea seren .. on a jointly agreed projects or projects
[11:31] ThinkererSelby Evans (thinkerer.melville): ! I favor a category of ideas that are directly aimed to producing revenue.
[11:31] Seren (serendipity.seraph): this seems backwards. most kickstarter projects start with a believable enthusiastic dev team.
[11:32] Lomgren Smalls: I think a lot of the problem is that we don’t really have an idea of what a “killer app” is for 3D. We have lots of infrastructure ideas…
[11:32] Seren (serendipity.seraph): yes Lomgren. That is what I am saying in part too.
[11:32] TheresaAnne Kohime: dev teams really are not hard to come by, seren, but ideas with real legs and a community to back it is far harder
[11:33] Seren (serendipity.seraph): some of us are too much techies in the bowels and no what we need to have things be better but they aren’t necessarily sexy to sell as KS project
[11:33] ThinkererSelby Evans (thinkerer.melville): ! Machinima can be called “real-time animation” — you don’t have to call it a virtual world
[11:33] TheresaAnne Kohime: i lvoe 3DWeb worlds or just the 3d web
[11:33] TR Amat: !Viewer that provides sandbox local sim module, with save/upload capability.
[11:33] Thynka Little: Being able to scale up so that more avatars can meet together simultaneously.
[11:33] Ai Austin: Imposible
[11:34] Ai Austin: cost would be fantastic
[11:34] TheresaAnne Kohime: cloud is a big solution for that
[11:34] Ai Austin: Especially on Sunday!
[11:34] TheresaAnne Kohime: i think at least
[11:34] TheresaAnne Kohime: its nto an end all for every application
[11:34] Seren (serendipity.seraph): different subject but would love to dig more/know more about work to have 1000 or more avatars on a sim. That makes so much possible.
[11:34] TheresaAnne Kohime: but it can work with a little more integration of intel’s sharding on a sim technology
[11:35] TheresaAnne Kohime: it is seren
[11:35] Tanglecosm Steamweaver: unlimited prims
[11:35] TheresaAnne Kohime: intel’s already proven that once
[11:35] FreeWee Ling: Mobility.
[11:35] TheresaAnne Kohime: and they’ve improved on it agian
[11:35] Beth Ghostraven: Cloud is a tool, just like iPad–we need to figure out what people need to use tools (like VWs) *for*
[11:35] TheresaAnne Kohime: lol
[11:36] Seren (serendipity.seraph): why isn’t there a sim separate inventory? I think there is.
[11:36] TR Amat: !Being able to hook your VW viewer machine into a Federated Cloud – not buying data centre cloud.
[11:36] Annabelle (annabelle.fanshaw): !this software can help refine the business model, the enterprise idea http://leancanvas.com/
[11:36] Ai Austin: Imagine logging in on 3G with a mobile device with cost per MB for first time – and with 100K items in your inventory!
[11:36] Seren (serendipity.seraph): supergrid inventory services..
[11:36] Seren (serendipity.seraph): !supergrid inventory service
[11:37] Tanglecosm Steamweaver: could the inventory be split into two layer? one portable, the other stored
[11:37] Ai Austin: I would rather pack an overnight bag
[11:37] Ai Austin: Understood
[11:37] Beth Ghostraven: ooh! shoes in every VW!
[11:37] Ai Austin: and not loaded in a cahe on viewer start
[11:37] Ai Austin: HyperGrid
[11:37] Thynka Little: I’d just like to look the same in every world lol
[11:38] APOLLO (johan.hagel): I have launched a idea at SURFnet that if you couple grids together based on openID there is technically a possibility to keep the complete inventory connected to the avatar if the grids all use the same identity mechanism
[11:38] Beth Ghostraven: O.O
[11:38] TR Amat: !Secure backup of Inventory, so you don’t lose stuff (even though only accessable through viewer).
[11:38] Seren (serendipity.seraph): why have the region owner able to access inventory? If it was supergrid then this would not be possible
[11:38] Beth Ghostraven: Tessa, do you mean SL sims or other VWs?
[11:38] Naring’nari (joey.aboma): Anyone not able to hear voice here?
[11:39] Seren (serendipity.seraph): this is a standard open data with privacy issue. Very solvabale
[11:39] Ai Austin: Suitcase, RV trailer and home πŸ™‚
[11:40] Ai Austin: Yep… sort of teleport an item to you – Star Trek
[11:40] TR Amat: Your container lorry on the Internet? πŸ™‚
[11:40] FreeWee Ling: Super idea.
[11:40] Ai Austin: You need an index on your inventory?
[11:41] Ai Austin: Cloud Part does that?
[11:41] Ai Austin: *Cloud Party
[11:41] Ai Austin: And Sony Home
[11:41] TheresaAnne Kohime: not sure on that with cloud party
[11:41] TheresaAnne Kohime: but i wouldn’t be surprised
[11:41] Ai Austin: Visual image of items before they are worn
[11:41] TheresaAnne Kohime: yes
[11:41] TheresaAnne Kohime: wooot!
[11:41] Seren (serendipity.seraph): self-contained pluggable database straight from cloud. not filtered through the server software except at rezz point.
[11:41] Ai Austin: Looks just like Sony Home inventory and wardribe does
[11:42] TheresaAnne Kohime: nods
[11:42] TR Amat: You mean, we’d have to have accurate avatars?, Joey? πŸ™‚
[11:42] TheresaAnne Kohime: i think this woudl relaly help with tps and alot of other issues with lag
[11:42] Beth Ghostraven: There’s one designer who does clothes for SL and RL
[11:42] Ai Austin: No need not to have items served from very many places with HTTP request for the items?
[11:42] Ai Austin nods
[11:42] Ai Austin: understood
[11:42] Ai Austin: yes…
[11:43] Ai Austin: no needs for them all to be accessible evenly
[11:43] Seren (serendipity.seraph): my inventory is far from immediate in SL. *laughs*
[11:43] Ai Austin: yep
[11:43] TR Amat: Two seconds – any longer then people get impatient. πŸ™‚
[11:43] FreeWee Ling: I’m over 126K
[11:43] Ai Austin: I noticed that when I cleared out firestorm and reinstalled
[11:43] Ai Austin: a MASSo f stuff
[11:43] Seren (serendipity.seraph): when the hell are we going to have scriptable inventory?LL
[11:43] Beth Ghostraven: Oh, FreeWee, but what you have in your inventory! Stupendous!!!
[11:44] TheresaAnne Kohime: ypepper .. byilder’s cache is what we call it
[11:44] TheresaAnne Kohime: unseen junk
[11:44] Ai Austin: I am okay to wait for stored and filed items like major buildings, etc.
[11:44] Ixmal Supermarine: I have to go, guys…. great discussion, keep those juicy ideas coming!
[11:44] Ai Austin: but clothing, and so on needs to be QUICK
[11:44] Ai Austin: By Ixmal
[11:44] Naring’nari (joey.aboma): Thanks Ixmal
[11:45] Naring’nari (joey.aboma): Identity Management in Netherlands was mentioned
[11:45] Lomgren Smalls: Well, I think we’re still talking about technologies behind stuff… what makes 3D a “must have?” 3D won’t take off until we have the killer app. Yes, we do need to discuss technologies and how to improve… but 3D will stay niche for the next 10, 20 years unless we have that killer app.
[11:45] Naring’nari (joey.aboma): JOhan was mentioning
[11:46] Seren (serendipity.seraph): !real facial expressions possibly form kinect
[11:46] TheresaAnne Kohime: agreen lomgren
[11:46] Ai Austin: ! Persistence of identity to me is the key
[11:46] Naring’nari (joey.aboma): Federated Identity Management
[11:46] Ai Austin: I agree
[11:46] Annabelle (annabelle.fanshaw): Everquest already has facial animation that reads your face through the webcam
[11:46] TR Amat: !Automatic clothes buying for men, using their accurate 3d avatar, might be a killer app. πŸ™‚
[11:46] Annabelle (annabelle.fanshaw): SOemote
[11:46] Seren (serendipity.seraph): !real open source/creative commons licensing possible
[11:47] Seren (serendipity.seraph): yep. miss being able to buy some things I don’t have time/skillz to make myself
[11:48] Ai Austin nods again
[11:48] Ai Austin: yep… I am with you
[11:49] Seren (serendipity.seraph) would not miss most of my inventory except various tools/scripts and my custom skin
[11:49] Lomgren Smalls: Yeah, I still haven’t properly gotten my micro self outside of SL
[11:49] Ai Austin: Whoooo… I would have to get rid of my space suits!
[11:49] TheresaAnne Kohime: lol
[11:49] Beth Ghostraven: I takes a lot of time to manage inventory
[11:49] MoPad White Board: Now showing Image 1/0 –
[11:50] Ai Austin: not to mention my spacecraft!
[11:50] APOLLO (johan.hagel): the content must be transparently be /can used over all grids. It must be personalized not only can be used at the grid where i bought it
[11:50] Seren (serendipity.seraph): charging for buying stuff beyond original costs? penalizing because not clueful enough to do inventory implementation better?
[11:50] FreeWee Ling: I probably have more submarines in inventory than I really need….
[11:50] TR Amat: Maybe you need a way to archive inventory entries?
[11:50] Seren (serendipity.seraph): Pictorial is not enough. Need tagging and much better search and ad hoc relationships to put together suites-
[11:50] Naring’nari (joey.aboma): Can everyone see the Public Pad on the Screen up here?
[11:51] Beth Ghostraven: yes
[11:51] Fran (francisco.koolhoven): yes
[11:51] Ai Austin: Yes, but read only I see?
[11:51] Next Slide: Sorry – Lock is enabled
[11:51] Next Slide: Sorry – Lock is enabled
[11:51] TR Amat: ! Need a way to map your inventory to a (private) sim, to pick it over?
[11:51] Thynka Little: Second Life is not the nexus of virtual worlds. Case in point, this conference coming up, they don’t even pay attention to SL anymore. http://summit.immersiveeducation.org/
[11:52] TR Amat: Empty your pockets. πŸ™‚
[11:52] Canvas: Sorry – Lock is enabled

[11:52] Canvas: Sorry – Lock is enabled
[11:52] Lock toggle: You cannot change lock mode – only Joey Aboma can.
[11:52] Seren (serendipity.seraph): sounds good to me
[11:52] MoPad White Board: Now showing Image 1/0 –
[11:52] MoPad White Board: Now showing Image 1/0 –
[11:52] APOLLO (johan.hagel): no, I think there must be a global inventory server that keep your inventory and can be connected to from the grid your in on that moment.
[11:53] Lomgren Smalls: I would also suggest trying to categorize all of the ideas – business ideas, architecture ideas, etc.
[11:53] Naring’nari (joey.aboma): https://3dwebthinktank.wordpress.com/
[11:53] Seren (serendipity.seraph): do we have a wiki/site to discuss these?
[11:53] Seren (serendipity.seraph): that is editable?
[11:54] TR Amat: A wiki would be very useful.
[11:54] Beth Ghostraven: how about using Google+ for discussion?
[11:54] Seren (serendipity.seraph): let other people help by making the pages themselves
[11:54] Seren (serendipity.seraph): winnow pages that get no activity for a period of time..
[11:54] Thynka Little: How nice if we could do all of this stuff right in SL
[11:55] Thynka Little: without going out to other web apps
[11:55] lewiz Zsun: here is an example of a PHP export for a project named simball, we have exhausted the ability of a linden labs server
[11:55] lewiz Zsun: http://simboardupdate.wordpress.com/
[11:55] TR Amat: !A kickstarter development tool to run in a viewer/sim. πŸ™‚
[11:55] Seren (serendipity.seraph): brings me back to !group browser and app windowns in virtual worlds πŸ™‚
[11:57] Seren (serendipity.seraph): now what is is an is not reasonable IP in virtual worlds and digital content is a very large subject itself..
[11:57] Next Slide: Sorry – Lock is enabled
[11:57] Ai Austin: Cloud Party Pictorial Inventory Image…
[11:57] Ai Austin: http://blog.inf.ed.ac.uk/atate/files/2013/05/2013-05-05-Cloud-Party-Inventory.jpg
[11:58] TR Amat: !A Scratch/viewer interface to use in education.
[11:58] TheresaAnne Kohime: there is a lite client rungon on mobile devices
[11:58] TheresaAnne Kohime: new one that we’re lookign at
[11:58] Tanglecosm Steamweaver: Lumiya
[11:58] lewiz Zsun: i agree.
[11:59] Tab Scott: A group that is working on developing standards in Virtual Worlds. Perhaps this effort is already aware of this. http://members.immersiveeducation.org
[11:59] Seren (serendipity.seraph): SL is too closed. non-transparent. makes viewer rules as much to limit competition it seems as to improve things. Yes, my opinions.
[11:59] Thynka Little: The org running the conference I mentioned before has a robust task force working on that
[11:59] Beth Ghostraven: I love the suitcase idea!
[12:00] Thynka Little: http://summit.immersiveeducation.org/
[12:00] TheresaAnne Kohime: excellent new thynka
[12:00] Beth Ghostraven: make myself look the same in other VWs
[12:00] MoPad White Board: Now showing Image 1/0 –
[12:00] Beth Ghostraven: yes
[12:00] Beth Ghostraven: archive for inventory is a great idea
[12:00] TheresaAnne Kohime: soudns like invesntory is a project all in itself.
[12:00] Seren (serendipity.seraph): why in the world do we still have server code that needs to read the entire inventory on sim crossing? That is just fundamentally stupid.
[12:01] TR Amat: Any plans for viewer on 3d displays?
[12:01] Ai Austin: Second Inventory works “reasonably” to move between SL and OpenSim for things you completely create and own
[12:01] TheresaAnne Kohime: we coudl problaby merge most together
[12:01] Ai Austin: Kirstens works fine in SL and OpenSim
[12:01] Ai Austin: for 3D
[12:01] Ai Austin: if you have 1950s red/cyan glasses πŸ™‚
[12:01] Seren (serendipity.seraph): Second Inventory sucks. item at a time hacking in many cases. folders broken on one end last time I tried it
[12:02] Ai Austin: True its item UPLOSAD at a time unfortunately
[12:02] Ai Austin: Folder download is allowed
[12:02] APOLLO (johan.hagel): so avatars and content must be standardized for ALL grids and NOT coupled to a specific grid but to a global avatar
[12:02] Seren (serendipity.seraph): but upload?
[12:02] TR Amat: Barbie AIs that do fashion shows for you. πŸ™‚

[12:03] Beth Ghostraven: yes, why?
[12:04] TR Amat: Unless they are wearing kilts…
[12:04] Ai Austin: I like the idae of liking RL and VW as you say Joey.. espec for fashion it could work great

[12:05] Ai Austin: and even home design, etc.
[12:05] Beth Ghostraven: no, Amat, kilts would look weird w/ smooth legs, lol
[12:06] Seren (serendipity.seraph): I remember freaking the first time I had to put a skin together by parts. πŸ™‚
[12:07] Thynka Little: http://pinterest.com/search/pins/?q=second+life+fashion
[12:07] TR Amat: So, how do we manage the design rip-off industry in VW? πŸ™‚
[12:07] TR Amat: designer*
[12:08] TheresaAnne Kohime: if they users are using this system we can use digital signatures to ensure they are not using ripped templates and blanks
[12:08] TheresaAnne Kohime: it woudl actually make the output of these ez designs far more secure than how the designers distribute their templates right now
[12:08] Thynka Little: Maybe Youtube channel for that
[12:09] Seren (serendipity.seraph): I really think we have to get away from business models that depend on obscurity and lack of access. That is not empowering and limits business to reinventing wheels as well
[12:09] Beth Ghostraven: yay Drax!!!

  1. fantastic issues altogether, you just won a brand new reader.
What could you suggest in regards to your submit that you made some days ago?
    Any positive?

  2. Hello to all, the contents present at this website are really
amazing for people experience, well, keep up the good work fellows.

  3. Very good blog! Do you have any hints for aspiring writers?
I’m planning to start my own blog soon but I’m a little lost on everything.
Would you recommend starting with a free platform like
Wordpress or go for a paid option? There are so many options
out there that I’m completely overwhelmed .. Any tips? Thank you!

  4. Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my
4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.”
She placed the shell to her ear and screamed.
There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had
    to tell someone!
